It would have been remembered forever.
It would have been one of the top 5 all-time plays in NFL history.
Great grandfathers would have been telling their great grandsons about this and where they were and what bad-for-them snack food they were munching when they first viewed this play 60 years hence.
But a funny thing happened to Jermaine Kearse on the way to immortality.
His team, the Seattle Seahawks, failed to follow up and capitalize on the greatness of Kearse's moment. And because of that this play, incredible in real time, but an extreme work of art in slow motion, will eventually be lost to the dustbin of history.
I count four separate touches before Kearse reels it in in one giant Come-to-Papa moment on the fifth.
Take one more look and weep at its intrinsic grace before it leaves your mind forever:
